Probably the single most difficult and frustrating than gaining a degree of competition in golf is trying to make money betting on golf. In the Tes that PGA Tour for another season starting this month, is a fact in itself, betting that no matter how you look – rough, water, woodland, beyond the hazards – to profit through golf betting may be the task more difficult and unrewarding absurd facing a prospective sports bettor.

Note that if you place a wager on a future book major tennis tournament where there are 128 participants, such as Wimbledon or the U.S. Open, beating his election has only seven players. The 120 others were removed by someone else.

The same happens in the NFL playoffs need to beat a team of only three or four opponents to claim a Super Bowl championship. The NBA and MLB have similar formats, where most teams are eliminated by someone other than the winner.

On the nearest golf course is a NASCAR Nextel Cup race, where the driver has to beat 42 other competitors.

However, a typical golf tournament features about 150 players, which means that the man put his bet, has to overcome each of them.

Given the overwhelming odds, then, Why gamble?

The answer, of course, is because the benefits may be so great. For example, of the 48 regular season events on the PGA Tour in 2006, 17 of them were won by players returning from three digits to the reward of bettor. Another nine tournaments to players whose probability was between 40 / 1 to 80 / 1.

The winners list is headed by abundant JB Holmes, who captured the FBR Open, Feb. 5, and Chris Couch, who won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, April 30, each at odds of 250 / 1.

Kirk Triplett (Chrysler Classic of Tucson, February 26), Aaron Baddeley (MCI Heritage, 16 April), Brett Wetterich (Byron Nelson Championship, May 14), Ben Curtis (Booz Allen Classic, June 25 and 84 Lumber Classic, September 17), Dean Wilson (The International, 13 August), and Eric Axley (Valero Texas Open, Sept. 24), all listed at odds of 150 / 1.

The winners of last year to 125 / 1 include Rod Pampling (Bay Hill Invitational, March 19), Stephen Ames (The Players Championship, March 26), Jeff Maggert (FedEx St. Jude Classic, May 28), Carl Pettersson (the Memorial Tournament, June 4), JJ Henry (Buick Championship 2 July) and Corey Pavin (U.S. Bank Championship, July 30).

Nail only one of the past winners and you're good for a free ride on the PGA betting Tour a week from two to five years depending on the size of gains from winning that one.

So what's the problem? Just bet with little possibilities of each week.

Well, for starters, just as I find a sofa JB Holmes or Chris? When Holmes won the FBR Open were 109 players Course offered odds of 100 / 1 or more, including 51 at odds of 250 / 1 or more. In fact, if you search with few real opportunities, there were 35 players bets were offered at 300 / 1 or more, including Tony Rohlik and Ian Leggatt, each in a change of life 750 / 1. How in the name of Titleist could isolate Holmes, who won in only his fourth PGA home?

It was a similar situation when Couch won in New Orleans. In that tournament, lists 26 other golfers 250 / 1 and 19 more were quoted at odds of 300 / 1 or greater.

Given the difficulty of isolating a long shot, perhaps betting the favorite is the best way forward.

Well, no.

Favorites won just nine events last year and, with the exception of Phil Mickelson win at odds of 7 / 1 in the BellSouth Classic, 2 April, the eight other favorites all were named Tiger Woods.

Woods, in fact, won eight of the 15 PGA Tour events he entered last year, which means that could have made a modest profit by betting on the world No. 1 player in each home. But to his career, Woods has won 54 of 200 tournaments, or just over one four tournaments he entered, so it should average probability of 3 / 1 to an equilibrium point.

That's not going to happen.

So how Golf betting win?

"I do not know anyone who bets on golf and win consistently," said a bookie of Nevada, who asked not be identified. "It is the mission of an idiot. The only way someone can win is to hit golf bets are few opportunities and never bet again.

Sure.
